Hoppie was born from a simple but powerful frustration: too many people are glued to their phones, too few are out in their communities doing what they truly love.

We asked ourselves — what if finding a hobby was as easy as scrolling a feed? What if the app you reached for actually helped you put your phone down and get out there?

At Hoppie, we believe your data belongs to you—whether you are an individual looking for a hobby or a local business looking to grow. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it safe.

1. What information do we collect?

To make Hoppie work for everyone, we collect:

  • For Individual Users: Name, email, phone number, hobby interests, and sociability preferences.
  • For Business Partners: Business name, physical address, contact details for managers, activity categories, and booking capacity/pricing information.
  • Verification Data: Professional credentials or ID verification to ensure the safety of our community.
  • Usage & Analytics: How you interact with the app so our AI can improve your matching and scheduling.

2. How do we use your data?

We use your data to power the “What, Who, and When”:

  • Smart Matching & AI: Connecting individuals with the right activities and businesses with the right customers.
  • Reliability & Trust: We maintain Reliability Scores for both individuals (attendance) and businesses (quality of service/consistency) to ensure a high-standard community.
  • B2B Monetisation: Helping businesses identify and fill “unused capacity” through targeted AI notifications to local users.
  • Communication: Sending booking confirmations, waitlist updates, and partnership opportunities.

3. Sharing your data

We only share information to facilitate real-world action:

  • User to Business: When a user joins an activity, we share their name and reliability score with the Business Partner to manage the session.
  • Business to User: We display business details, reviews, and activity descriptions to our user community.
  • Service Providers: We use trusted third-party tools for hosting and email; they never own your data.

4. Your Rights

You are in control. Whether you are a hobbyist or a business owner, you have the right to:

  • Access: See the data we hold on you.
  • Rectify: Correct any mistakes in your profile or business listing.
  • Delete: Request the removal of your account and data (“Right to be Forgotten”).

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security to protect both personal and commercial information. As an early-stage venture, we prioritise the integrity of our network above all else.
